In Taurus Petroleum Limited v State Oil Marketing Company of the Ministry of Oil, Republic of Iraq [2017] UKSC 64 (25 October 2017), the Supreme Court held that a debt arising under a letter of credit is situated at the place where the debtor is resident, and not where payment is to be made against documents.
